Devotion 1 of 2: Num 3
The Firstborn failure phenomenon applied to Aaron’s sons, too! Nadab was the firstborn and Abihu was probably the 2nd born sons of Aaron, but they offered profane fire before God, so they were struck down and died (Lev 10:1-2). The 3rd and 4th sons of Aaron, Eleazar and Ithamar, took their place as priests.
We’re called to be the Firstborn Church (Heb 12:22-23) and are destined to receive the firstborn blessings of kingship, priesthood and the double portion, but if we fail, as almost all the firstborns of the Bible did, we will lose those blessings! Let’s learn from those failures and be determined to fulfill our mission and calling as the Firstborn Revival Church of the endtime!

Devotion 2 of 2: James 2
(2/2)
1) Partiality (v.1-13) and faith and works (v.14-26).
2) No, I don’t think so! They each address a different problem, so their approach is different, and they sound contradictory but are not.
The problem James deals with is so-called “believers” who don’t have genuine faith and haven’t been born again, and that’s why they don’t have works or fruit. James is trying to point out that their faith isn't real unless there's change, or fruit, or works!
The problem Paul deals with is genuine believers who have been born again and are trying to follow Christ, but sometimes fail and feel condemned about it. So Paul is trying to release them from condemnation.
My conclusion: Both teachings are needed to address different problems in the church! Let’s not think narrowly, but broadly, to understand all of God’s vast wisdom and truth!
