Devotion 1 of 2: Lev 21
This chapter deals with regulations concerning the conduct and standards of becoming priests. In v.16-23, physical defects such as being blind, lame, a hunchback, or a dwarf, etc. disqualified people from the priesthood.
When Jesus came, he changed the priesthood of his kingdom. First, he made every believer a priest, not just one out of 12 tribes (1 Pet 2:9). Then he chose people that society had rejected, like tax collectors, harlots, 5 times divorced or demon-possessed women, people who were sick, poor, unacceptable, uneducated, etc., and healed and transformed them and made them his followers and NT priests! Even if a person is not healed of his physical defect, Jesus loves and accepts them today, and so should we!

Devotion 2 of 2: Acts 21
(2/2)
In this chapter Paul completes his trip from Ephesus in Asia Minor to Jerusalem, despite many warnings that he would be put in chains there. The prophet Agabus made a graphic appeal to Paul (v.10-14), but Paul answered that he was ready to be arrested and even to die for Christ! And true to the warnings, Paul was arrested, imprisoned, sent to Rome, and eventually died as a martyr there.
The LDC will also be killed by AC after we complete our mission of world evangelism and revival (Matt 24:14, Rev 11:7). It will be a fearful experience to be arrested, thrown into prison and executed! So Paul’s example is so important for us to understand so that we, too, will face martyrdom with unwavering faith and courage! I believe one reason for Paul’s braveness was his NDE! He knew what death was like, and so he wasn’t afraid of it but actually said it was better than to remain alive (Phili 1:21-23).
There are hundreds of genuine NDErs who share their testimony in books, magazines, TV, movies and on the internet! Caution: There are also false NDE stories, so we need to be spiritually mature so we can discern the bad from the good (Heb 5:14). So I believe we should study genuine NDE cases and know how glorious death is for a believer so we will not hesitate when the time comes for us to surrender our life for Christ!
