Devotion 1 of 2: Ex 25
1) Moses’ Tabernacle can be a picture of all four.
*Jesus: Because he had the presence of God in him (John 14:11), which is what Moses’ Tabernacle (MT) had (Ex 40:34).
*Church: Because it is the temple of God (Eph 2:21), which is what MT was.
*Man: Because we are a 3-part being (1 Thes 5:23) and the temple of God (1 Cor 6:19), which is what MT was.
*Restoration: Because MT shows us the path by which the church will be restored: Outer Court, Holy Place, Holy of Holies.
2) A) Ark of the Covenant (v.10-22): It was where God’s presence, glory and voice were (v.22). Jesus was the same.
B) Table of Showbread (v.23-30): It held the Showbread (v.30). Jesus was the Bread of Life (John 6:35).
C) Lampstand (v.31-40): It gave out light in the Holy Place (v.37). Jesus was the Light of the World (John 8:12).

In this chapter, the Holy Place (HP) is described with its ceiling coverings (v.1-14), acacia wood walls (v.15-30), and two veils, one between it and the HOH (v.31-35) and one between it and the Outer Court (v.36-37).
The ceiling covering had 4 layers: The bottom was of linen (v.1-6), the 2nd was of goats’ hair (v.7-13), the 3rd was of ram skins and the top was of badger skins (v.14).
The linen ceiling was made of 2 parts which each had 50 loops on one side that were clasped together to make one ceiling covering (v.5-6). The goats’ hair covering also was made from 2 parts which had 50 loops each that were clasped together to make one ceiling covering. This is a beautiful picture of the Holy Spirit being poured out upon the church to make us one in Christ! Let’s believe that the Holy Spirit will make us one!
