Devotion 1 of 2: Ex 17
We have a bad impression of Israel in the wilderness complaining all the time. But upon close examination, we realize that their complaints often were about very serious matters, like not having any water to drink (v.2) or food to eat! How long would I have lasted without complaining? Probably much shorter than they! Yet, they were wrong to complain, and the result was they never made it to the Promised Land! So let’s us ask God to help us to really get serious about overcoming complaining, no matter how wrong we think our situation is! Lord, help me not to complain!

Devotion 2 of 2: Ex 18
(2/2)
1) He noticed Moses judging the people all by himself. This caused the people to stand all day in long lines, making them waste time and get very tired. This was also wearing Moses out (v.13, 18).
2) He recommended that leaders of 1000s, 100s, 50s and 10s be appointed to help Moses in judging the people.
