Devotion 1 of 2: Job 38

God begins to speak in this chapter. This shows the ideal result in counseling—to help people to encounter God and hear what he has to say. In this chapter God uses various phenomenon in nature to show Job how little he is and knows and how great God is in comparison. He wants Job to realize he has been complaining about things he had no understanding about! Let’s all learn this lesson also—when we complain, we don’t understand what we’re talking about! Lord, help me not to complain!

Devotion 2 of 2: Heb 11

(2/2)
V.3 fits in with Job 38, which we are reading today. We don’t understand how, but we believe that God created the world, and the natural world magnifies his greatness and wisdom. Modern man believes that religion is outdated, and science has replaced religion to explain the world. They point out that during Midieval Times, the church taught the earth was the center of our solar system, but science proved that the sun was the center. But that incident doesn’t prove religion is wrong; it just proves that man-controlled religion is wrong!

But the same can be said of science, which has also made many huge blunders. One example is the claim by astronomers in the early 20th century that our galaxy is the whole universe. But in 1924, Edwin Hubble proved that our galaxy is just one of many other galaxies, and our universe is much bigger than we had thought! So it not that religion or science is wrong but human error in religion and science is wrong! I firmly believe that true faith and true science actually are both right and support each other.
