Devotion 1 of 2: Job 16
In v.2, Job calls his friends miserable comforters! In v.4, he says that he could speak as they do! But in v.5 he says he wouldn’t do that, but rather, he would strengthen and comfort them and relieve their grief. So Job encapsulates the essence of counseling in these short verses. It’s not to point out the counselee’s faults and mistakes, or accuse him of wrongdoing, or lecture or judge him; rather, it’s to strengthen, comfort and relieve his feelings of grief. Let’s pray we can be anointed counselors that really help and lift people up and point them to Jesus!

Devotion 2 of 2: Matt 16
(2/2)
1) Yes.
2) Jesus healed, delivered from evil spirits, raised from the dead and did many other miraculous signs that showed he was the Messiah!
3) One sign that shows we are living in the endtime is Israel being rebirthed as a nation in 1948. This fulfilled many Bible prophecies, like Amos 9:14-15 and Matt 24:32-35.
Another sign is the church being restored after the Middle or Dark Age. In 1517 the truth of salvation was restored through the Protestant Reformation, and in 1906 the baptism of the HS was restored through the Azusa St. revival. The stage is set for the final major step in the church’s restoration, which will be in the last days. This will fulfill Acts 3:19-21.
A third sign is the spread of homosexual behavior. This was true in Lot’s day in Sodom (Gen 19), and Luke 17:28-30 says Lot’s day was a picture of the last days.
