Devotion 1 of 2: Job 3
In v.25, Job says: “For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, and what I dreaded has happened to me.” I think Job feared that Satan would attack him, and he wouldn’t know why. Although he searched for sin in his life that would allow Satan’s attacks, he couldn’t find it, so after a while, he thought God had made a mistake and was punishing him unjustly!
What Job missed was what God showed us in chapters 1 and 2 of Satan saying he could make Job curse God, and God saying Job wouldn’t do that, and allowing Satan to try! So this book is so important for us to sustain us when we go through trials, and we don’t understand why. Satan is trying to make us doubt, dislike or curse God, and God is allowing it to happen because he believes we wouldn’t do that! Let’s prove God right by not doubting, disliking or cursing God, but by confessing he is a God of love, and all things work together for good to those who love him (Rom 8:28)!

Devotion 2 of 2: Matt 3
(2/2)
John described Jesus as the baptizer in the Holy Spirit and fire, and that fire would clean out his threshing floor and burn up the chaff (v.11-12)! When we were baptized in the HS, we experienced a portion of this promise, but I don’t think we experienced it all! So in the last day revival, I believe God will fulfill this promise of burning up our fleshly chaff and making the church (his threshing floor) clean so that he can bring in an abundant harvest of souls! Let’s seek God to fulfill this promise in our lives!
