Devotion 1 of 1: Gen 25
1) By selling his birthright to Jacob in exchange for one meal (v.29-34). The church is called to be the church of the firstborn. We should highly esteem this calling and not neglect or lose it by satisfying our passing fleshly desires.
2) Because the church is called to be the church of the firstborn (Heb 12:22-23). This includes 3 blessings: To be kings, to be priests, and to receive the double portion blessing!
GEN 26 sharing:
Isaac followed after Abraham and did many things that Abraham also did, like these 3 things:
1) V.6-11. He said she was his sister to save his life so that he could pray for and protect his wife from being made a concubine! (12:10-20; 20:1-18)
2) V.12-14. Became prosperous. (12:16; 13:2)
3) V.16-25. To avoid quarreling, yielded the land and moved to another place. (13:6-12)
Let us, too, follow in Abraham’s footsteps as he is the Father of our Faith!
