Devotion 1 of 2: Col 1
1) Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation and the creator of all things (v.15-16).

The author says the more accurate way of translating this verse would be: “the gospel is being preached to every creature under heaven.” I have no problem with this translation!

Devotion 2 of 2: Mic 7
Parts of this prophecy about idolatrous Israel will be fulfilled by the lukewarm church in the endtime! V.5-6 say, “Do not trust in a friend; do not put your confidence in a companion…For son dishonors father…A man’s enemies are the men of his own household.” This agrees with Luke 21:16, “You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death.” This prophecy by Jesus will be fulfilled by lukewarm or unbelieving family members when AC threatens death for the whole family if even one of them doesn’t worship his image or take his mark! Many people will betray their own family members in order to save their own lives.
