Devotion 1 of 2: Ex 15
Israel was able to drink the bitter water of Marah by Moses throwing a piece of wood into the water, which made it fit to drink (v.25). This symbolizes our life, full of bitterness through sin, being set free and made whole through believing in the cross (wood, tree) of Christ!

Devotion 2 of 2: Ex 16
One lesson we can learn about mana is that as Israel gathered it every day to eat (v.4, 15, 21), so we, too, should read the Bible every day and gain spiritual nourishment from it. Another lesson is that at first, Israel didn’t know what mana was (v.15). We, too, when we first read the Bible, will not understand its meaning. That’s why many people stop reading the Bible! I didn’t understand anything the 1st two times I read through the NT! But we should continue to read and ask God to reveal His truth to us! And as we do, we will begin to receive rich nourishment for our spiritual life!
