Devotion 1 of 2: Ezra 10
Like the Jews, we may have areas in our life in which we are compromising and accepting the world’s values. Let’s ask God to help us examine our hearts, and if he shows us those areas, let’s confess and repent, like Ezra did (v.1). Many revivals in the past have started when God’s people began repenting of their sins. Lord God, show us our sins and grant us humility to confess and repent of them. Transform us so that we don’t hinder revival but be the spark that ignites it!

Devotion 2 of 2: Ezra 9
V.3 says that when Ezra heard that some of the people, priests and even Levites had married Gentile women, he tore his garments and plucked out his hair and beard! In the OT, this was a way to express grief or loss so Ezra was showing his grief at the Jews’ compromise with the world. Let’s also experience genuine sorrow at the lukewarmness of the Laodicean Church of the last days, and ask God to change our lukewarmness and make us hot for Jesus! (Rev 3:15-16)
