1) Jeremiah prophesied that the Jews would return after 70 years in Babylon (Jer 29:10).
2) Isaiah prophesied that King Cyrus would release the Jews to return (Is 44:28).

Devotion 2 of 2: Ezra 2
After returning from Babylon, the priest could consult with the Urim and Thummim, according to v.63. This means they still had the High Priest’s garments! Babylon took the treasures of the temple (2 Kings 24:13), including all the furniture, I believe. That’s why we never hear of the Ark of the Covenant after the Babylonian Captivity. But it’s good they had the Urim and Thummim so they could inquire of God in making important decisions! We need to hear God’s voice, guiding our lives!
