Devotion 1 of 2: Luke 17
1) V.37 says they were taken to the corpse, where vultures (not eagles!) gather. I believe that is AC’s spiritually dead body where spiritually dead people gather, just as the church is Christ’s spiritually alive body where spiritually alive people gather.
2) He said to the corpse, where vultures gather. He meant those taken were spiritually dead people taken to AC’s spiritually dead body.

Devotion 2 of 2: Prov 17
V.22 says, “A joyful heart is good medicine.” In 1964, a famous magazine editor and author, Norman Cousins, contracted a life-threatening disease called degenerative collagen illness. He was hospitalized, suffering from severe pain, high fever and near-paralysis of his back, neck and legs. While fighting the pain in the hospital, he discovered that if he had a good laugh, the pain would subside, and he could get some sleep! So he began to watch old comedy movies, which made him laugh a lot! And years later, he was declared free from the illness! He believes it was because of laughter! His case is so famous that it is studied in Psychology classes at US universities. I know because I studied it also!
