Devotion 1 of 2: Jer 37

When Babylon besieged Judah, Judah sought help from Egypt, and it worked for a while because when Egypt came to Judah, Babylon withdrew her army (v.5). But when Egypt left, Babylon returned again and conquered Judah (v.7-8). This applies to the church trying to avoid AC by fleshly means, such as teaching pre-trib rapture, but it will fail, and AC will attack and kill Christians. The point is that we shouldn’t try to avoid AC because he will be God’s servant, God himself will send AC to shake the church and make us hot or cold, make us willing to be martyrs for Jesus or wanting to compromise to AC to save our own lives! This will purify the church and prepare it to be used in the great endtime revival!

Devotion 2 of 2: Rom 9

1) A) God chose Isaac and rejected Ishmael to form the nation of Israel because he wanted a child of promise, not of the flesh (v.7-9).
B) God then chose Jacob and rejected Esau even before birth because he wanted Israel to be formed by his election and not by works (v.10-13).
2) From a human (fleshly) point of view, it might not seem fair, but from God’s point of view, if he left it up to man’s free choice only, no one would get saved, so it was the only way to save mankind.
