Devotion 1 of 2: Acts 24

1) Nazarenes, or sect of the Nazarenes (v.5).
2) He was a plague, creating dissension among the Jews, leading the sect of the Nazarenes, and trying to profane the temple (v.5-6).
3) Paul didn’t incite dissension or rioting. But he did preach the gospel, which was different from the law and converted many Jews from Judaism to Christianity, which angered the Jews, so they wanted to stop him. They did it by rioting and accusing Paul of profaning the temple.

Devotion 2 of 2: Jer 24

In the illustration of the good and bad figs, the good figs were the Jews who would be taken captive to Babylon (v.5), and the bad figs were those who stayed in Judah or escaped to Egypt (v.8)! The good figs would change for good (v.6-7), while the bad figs would be scattered and scorned among the nations (v.9-10)! In the last days, Christians and all humanity will be tested by antichrist. If we succumb to his threats and worship his image or take his mark, we will be like the bad figs in Jer 24. But if we rise up and defy his orders to worship or take his mark, we will be supernaturally protected by God and be used in world evangelism to win many souls and become like the good figs!
