Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 119

In v.34, David prays for understanding so that he may keep God’s law. Yes, spiritual revelation and understanding can help us so much to obey God! I pray for understanding about God’s plan for the endtime so I can cooperate with God rather than go against his plans!

Devotion 2 of 2: Rev 18

This chapter declares the fall of Babylon, which I have said I think refers to Islam. There is a difference between sincere, moderate Islam and extreme Islam. One is made of people who are using Islam to try to live a good life; the other is made of people who are trying to spread Islam by any means possible, which may include killing, etc. This chapter gives many descriptions of Babylon, such as: 1) Merchants grew rich from her luxuries (v.3). 2) Her great wealth will be brought to ruin suddenly (v.17). 3) Her merchants were the world’s important people (v.23). How do these characteristics of Babylon apply to Islam? One way is that many Islamic nations have an abundance of oil, which has made them rich and given them much influence among nations and rulers. Let’s pray for the fall of extreme Islam, which this chapter prophesies will happen!
