Devotion 1 of 2: John 8

I think we should realize that because the Bible was given before the printing press was invented, it had to be copied by hand many thousands of times to be preserved for future generations! And because the act of copying the Bible was done by man, invariably, errors were made. However, compared to the monumental task of copying thousands of pages thousands of times, the amount of errors is incredibly few, showing what a miraculous work the preserving of the Bible has been! So I believe our position on the Bible should be that it was given as the Word of God without error at the beginning, but because it had to be copied by hand thousands of times, some errors have crept in. But the errors are minor ones that don’t affect the faith and doctrines of Christianity at all!

I also feel that the story of the woman caught in adultery is in perfect alignment with the Scriptures so I wouldn't be surprised if an even more ancient manuscript is found in the future that contains that story! I believe we should respect authentic science and also maintain our Bible faith.

Devotion 2 of 2: Ps 86

Recently we have learned about the teaching of “Second Chance” or “Salvation After Death” (SAD), and how it is not a true interpretation of the Bible. Verses like v.9 are used by SADers to back up their claim. They say all nations will worship God, so they will be saved! But I believe there is another interpretation of this verse that is more accurate. At the judgment time, God will reveal his righteousness and glory to all people who lived throughout history, and everyone will acknowledge that God is righteous and the Creator and Supreme Authority in the universe! And they will bow down and worship God, but it doesn’t mean they will be saved! It only means they will recognize they were wrong and confess that God was right before they receive their punishment for sin!
