Devotion 1 of 2: Judg 10
One of Israel’s judges was Jair. Only 3 verses (v.3-5) are written about him, so we don’t know much about him. One thing we do know is that he had 30 sons who rode 30 donkeys. What I felt from these words is that he was a good father who raised a good family. This is a huge plus for a leader because many principles that make a good leader also make a good household.

Devotion 2 of 2: Judg 9
Abimelek was an evil man who murdered his 69 brothers so he could be the sole ruler over Shechem (v.5). But a leader who murders to gain position won’t have smooth relationships with others. In the end, anger erupted between Abimelek and Shechem, and they fought (v.23). Abimelek defeated Shechem, but as he was about to burn down a tower to which the people had escaped to, he was killed by a millstone dropped on his head by a woman (v.53). Good leaders lead by good principles of respect, serving, and helping others. When we serve ourselves, our leadership produces in-fighting and failure. I think Trump and Putin are examples of this.
