Devotion 1 of 2: 1 John 1
The best proof of a crime is to have hard, solid, concrete evidence. If you have it, then your case is very strong. John wrote that Jesus was the Word of life (v.1); he had eternal life (v.2); he was with God (v.2); and he was the Son of God (v.3). John also said that he had strong, solid proof, which he saw with his eyes, touched with his hands (v.1) and heard (with his ears) (v.3). So John’s claim that Jesus was the Son of God was very reliable and concrete. This is what our faith is based on!

Devotion 2 of 2: Ps 78
Asaph describes the long history of Israel rebelling against God, then being judged, then repenting and being delivered, and then repeating the whole process again. The reason for this is so that Israel would learn from their past experiences (v.3) and pass it on to the next generation (v.4). This is also why we study restoration in Israel’s and the church’s history!
