Devotion 1 of 2: Job 6
Job says he wants God to crush, or kill, him (v.9)! He said this because he was in so much pain and suffering. When we go through suffering, we often feel like we want to die; we think dying is better than living! But, of course, this is not true! And from his friends, Job wants kindness, which he likens to a brook which refreshes travelers (v.15-20).

Devotion 2 of 2: Matt 6
One of Jesus’ teachings about prayer that has helped me is His teaching in v.14-15 that if we forgive others, God will forgive us, but if we don’t forgive others, God won’t forgive us. So when I pray, I try as much as possible to forgive everyone whom I feel has done something bad against me. This helps my prayer to be positive, free and joyful, not negative, bound and angry!
