Devotion 1 of 2: Isa 53
One prophecy about the crucifixion found in Is 53 was that Jesus was familiar with pain (v.3b). Jesus suffered much pain through the whippings, crown of thorns, nails in his hands and feet, and spear in his side! This is why he understands and feels compassion for all people, including me, who go through pain. And that’s why Jesus was the Good Samaritan who stopped to help the wounded traveler, who represents mankind, in Luke 10!
