Devotion 1 of 2: Isa 6

Lesson 1: King Uzziah’s death was probably a sad time for Isaiah because Uzziah was such a great king (v.1). But that’s when Isaiah had an encounter with God. Often we encounter God and are changed when we go through a difficult time in life!
Lesson 2: When Isaiah encountered God, he realized the sinfulness of his lips and thought he was ruined (v.5), but a seraphim touched and cleansed his lips (v.6-7). We need to repent of our sins and be cleansed so we can serve God without a lot of baggage from our past that will cause us problems.
Lesson 3: When God asked, “Whom shall I send?” Isaiah responded by saying, “Here am I. Send me!” We need to respond to God’s call so he can send us to do his work!

Devotion 2 of 2: Luke 6

One lesson from Jesus’ healing ministry is that as a great number of people came to hear Jesus and to be healed of their diseases (v.17), so multitudes of people will be drawn to the LDC because we will be doing the works of Jesus. Another lesson is that as Jesus healed all those who touched him for healing (v.19), so all those who seek healing in the LDR will be healed!
