Joseph’s sons, Manasseh and Ephraim had many people and felt their allotment was too small, so they asked Joshua for more land. Joshua told them they could have the forested hill country and the plains if they took them from the Canaanites living there and cleared the land (v.14-18). I think they obeyed Joshua and took the extra land!
