Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 83

The enemies of Israel formed a confederacy of 10 nations (v.5-8) to destroy Israel (v.4), but Asaph intercedes to God to defeat them so that God’s name is made known (v.17-18). This is a picture of AC’s coalition of 10 nations.
In the endtime, AC, or the beast, will form a coalition of 10 nations to rule the world. This is revealed in Rev 13:1, 17:7, etc., as 10 horns. The beast also has 7 heads, which refer to the 7 empires that oppressed Israel: Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece, Rome, and AC. Let’s pray that God will defeat AC’s empire in the LD!

Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Tim 1

This was the last epistle of Paul, written during his 2nd imprisonment in Rome, before being martyred by Nero around 67 AD. V.7 will be a key for the endtime believer to not apostatize but remain faithful to Christ.
Paul suffered shame while being arrested and imprisoned (v.8, 12). He and other Christians were accused of causing a devastating fire in Rome in 64 AD and thrown in prison. Many, driven by fear of shame, turned away from him (v.15). Others overcame shame and remained faithful (v.16-18). Let’s overcome fear and shame and remain faithful to Jesus!
