Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 65
V.1 reveals that praise is the performing of a vow that believers make to God concerning what they will utter from their mouths: “Praise is awaiting You, O God, in Zion; and to You the vow shall be performed.”
However, this vow is easily broken when we speak words of criticism, anger, complaints, etc. So, how can we keep our vow of praise in daily life? By remembering these 3 things: 1) How God provided atonement for our sins (v.3)! 2) God’s awesome deeds of righteousness for us (v.5a)! 3) God’s amazing work of creation (v.6-13)!

1節は、賛美とは、自らの口から発する言葉に関して、信者が神に立てた誓いを果たすことであると明かしている。「神よ シオンで あなたには賛美がふさわしく あなたに 誓いが果たされますように。」
しかし、ネガティブな言葉を口にする時、この誓いは容易に破られてしまう。では、どのようにして日常生活の中で賛美の誓いを守られるのだろうか。この詩篇は、次の3つのことを思い出すことを勧めている。1）神が私たちの過ちをお赦しくださったことを（3節）！2）神が行ってくださった恐るべき義の御業を（5a節）！3）神の素晴らしい自然界の御業を（6-13節）！
Devotion 2 of 2: Col 1
This chapter contains some of the most amazing revelations in the entire Bible of who Jesus is! But are these revelations reliable and are they true? In the final analysis, it is a decision of faith. There’s no way to prove they are true or false. We either believe Paul wrote truth, inspired by the Holy Spirit, or he wrote his own delusions.
What awesome revelations about Christ did Paul write? In v.15-18, he wrote that Jesus was: the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation, creator of all things, visible and invisible, head of church, etc. Amazing!

この章には、イエスがどんな方であるかについて、聖書の中でも最も驚くべき啓示の数々が含まれている！ しかし、これらの啓示は信頼でき、かつ真実なのだろうか。最終的な分析においては、それは信仰の決断である。それらが真実であるか偽りであるかを証明する方法はない。パウロが聖霊に動かされて真実を書いたと信じるか、あるいは自らの妄想を書いたと信じるかのどちらかである。
パウロはキリストについて、いかに素晴らしい啓示を記したのだろうか。15-18節に、彼はイエスが見えない神のかたち、全被造物に先立って生まれた方、天と地にあるすべてのものの創造者、教会の頭、などである。何と驚くべきことである！
