Devotion 1 of 2: Hab 1
Habakkuk lived around 600 BC, during the final years of Judah’s decaying kingdom, before Babylon partially defeated them in 605 BC and made them pay tribute and then totally destroyed them in 586 BC.
In v.1-4, Habakkuk cries out to God why He doesn’t save Judah from their sins. In v.5-11, God says that He is raising up wicked Babylon as His answer. Finally, in v.12-17, the prophet asks why God would use a more evil nation to deal with Judah.
This is what we face today. We ask God for revival. God says He will send AC! Let’s understand God’s endtime plan of using AC to make us a revival church and work with God, not try to avoid His solution!
Devotion 2 of 2: Luke 22
In this chapter, we see the weaknesses of the disciples and Jesus’ reaction to that in this chapter.
In v.24, they argue who is the greatest. In v.28-30, Jesus recognizes their sacrifices for Him and awards them with thrones. In v.31-34, Jesus says that Peter will deny Him but also that He prayed for his recovery. In v.39-46, they fall asleep while praying. In v.50-51, Peter cuts off a servant’s ear to protect Jesus, but Jesus corrects him. In v.60-62, Peter denies Jesus 3x. Even though we fail, Jesus is praying for us that we succeed!

24節では、誰が一番偉いかについて弟子たちが議論する。28-30節では、イエスがご自身のための犠牲を認め、彼らに王座を与える。31-34節では、イエスがペテロの否認を預言しつつも、彼の立ち直りのために祈る。39-46節では、弟子たちが祈りの最中に眠り込んでしまう。50-51節では、ペテロがイエスを守るために大祭司のしもべの耳を切り落とすが、イエスは彼をたしなめる。60-62節では、ペテロが3度イエスを否認する。私たちが失敗することがあっても、イエスは立ち直りを得られるよう、祈っておられる！
