Devotion 1 of 2: Nah 3
This chapter describes the defeat of Nineveh. Among the punishments she received was one brutality pointed out in v.10b: “…her young children also were dashed to pieces at the head of every street…” Slaughtering children of the defeated enemy was one way of crushing the possibility of future revenge among nations in OT times.
Critics of the Bible use Ps 139:9 to show how horrible Israel was for wanting Babylon’s children to be dashed upon rocks. But v.8 implies Babylon had done the same thing to Israel! Let’s study OT culture to understand the Bible correctly.

この章は、ニネベの敗北について記している。彼女が受けた刑罰の中には、10節後半が指摘している残虐な行為もあった。「その幼子たちも、すべての街角で八つ裂きにされた……」。旧約時代には、将来の復讐の可能性を断つために、敗北した敵の子どもたちを殺すことが、国々の間で行われることがあった。
聖書を批判する人々は、詩137:9を取り上げ、イスラエルがバビロンの子どもたちを岩に打ちつけることを願ったのは、何と残酷なことかと批判する。しかし8節は、バビロンもイスラエルに同じようなことをしたことを示唆している！ 聖書を正しく理解するために、旧約時代の文化や背景を学ぼう！
Devotion 2 of 2: Luke 21
Jesus prophesies about the endtime in v.7-36, but not in consecutive order. I believe He divided the prophecy into 2 timelines, v.7-28 which cover the pre-tribulation period to the end of the tribulation (His judgment coming on the Mt. of Olives), and v.29-36 from the pre-trib to the middle of the tribulation (His rapture coming in the air).
Let’s study the endtime to discover God’s plan for the last days!

イエスは7-36節で終わりの時について預言しているが、時系列順に並べたわけではない。私は、イエスがこの預言を二つのタイムラインに分けて語ったと信じる。第一は7-28節で、期間は患難前から患難最後（裁きのためのオリーブ山再臨）までを扱っている。第二は29-36節で、患難前から患難時代の中間（携挙のための空中来臨）までを扱っている。
終わりの時について学び、神の終末の計画を見いだそう！
