Devotion 1 of 2: Deut 17

DEVOTION 1: DEUT 17
In v.14-15, God predicts to Israel about the day they will demand a king. Then the Lord warns them about that king multiplying his horses and wives (v.16-17). Finally, God instructs them on what that king can do to avoid those traps. He can succeed by reading God’s Word and learning to fear and obey Him (v.18-20).
Unfortunately, King Solomon greatly multiplied his horses and wives, leading to his downfall! But we also are called to be spiritual kings (Rev 5:10). Let’s not use our calling to increase our wealth and pleasures, but increase the kingdom of God instead!
デボーション1/2：申17章
14-15節で、神はイスラエルに、彼らが王を求める日が来ることを預言します。そして主は、その王が馬と妻を増やそうとするだろうと警告します（16-17節）。最後に、神は王がそのような罠を避けるために何をすべきかを教えます。王は神の言葉を読み、神を畏れ、従うことを学ぶことによって成功できるのです（18-20節）。
残念ながら、ソロモン王は馬と妻を大いに増やし、それが彼の没落を招きました。しかし、私たちもまた霊的な王となるよう召されています（1ペテロ2:9）。私たちの召しを、富や快楽を増やすためにではなく、神の国を増やすために用いましょう。
Devotion 2 of 2: Deut 18
Moses warned Israel to not pass children through the fire like the pagan nations were doing (v.9-10). This was one of the reasons God caused them to be defeated by Israel and kicked out of Canaan.
I believe this world age is closing soon. One reason is because modern society is causing millions of babies to be aborted (killed) yearly for the parents’ convenience. When man kills his own children, the Bible shows he loses the right to live in the land anymore. Let’s pray for many to realize this sin and repent to God.
デボーション2/2：申18章
モーセはイスラエルに対し、異教の国々が行っていたように、子供を火の中を通らせるようなことをしてはならないと警告しました（9-10節）。これが、神が異教の民をイスラエルに敗北させ、カナンの地から追放した理由の一つでした。
私は、この世の時代が間もなく終焉を迎えると信じます。その理由の一つは、現代社会が親の都合のために毎年何百万もの赤ちゃんを中絶（殺害）させているからです。聖書によれば、人が自分の子供を殺すと、もはやその地に住む権利を失います。多くの人がこの罪に気づき、神に悔い改めるよう祈りましょう。
