Devotion 1 of 2: Deut 7
This tremendous chapter reveals the special calling that God gave to Israel in the OT, which is the same calling He’s given to the church as stated in v.6: “For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.”
The calling came, not because Israel or the church was large in numbers, wealth or strength, but because the Lord loved us, and He saved us out of bondage to Pharaoh and to Satan (v.7-8)! Thank you, Lord, for Your mercy.

Devotion 2 of 2: Deut 8
This amazing chapter is divided into 3 parts. All apply not only to Israel, but to the LDC and the LDR!
1) v.1-5 reveal the reason for the trials of the wilderness. It was to test Israel, to see if they would obey or not, to teach them to live by the Word of God alone, and to chasten them as a father chastens his son.
2) v.6-10 taught that if they obeyed God, He would surely bring them into the richly abundant Promised Land.
3) v.11-20 warned after they entered the blessings of the land, if they forgot God, they would lose everything.

この章は3つに分かれていて、その内容はイスラエルだけでなく、終末教会と終末リバイバルにも当てはまります。
