Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 23
This psalm is one of the most famous and beloved of the psalms in the Bible. David wrote it based on his experiences as a young shepherd.
V.4 says, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” When we grow old or get very weak from disease, we all fear death. But when we know Christ as our shepherd, Savior and Lord, we know we’re saved and will go to heaven after we die, so we no longer fear death. What a great salvation we have in Christ!

Devotion 2 of 2: Rom 7
This chapter shows the believer’s predicament, or problem. Although he is saved and made righteous before God through Jesus, in his daily life, even though he wants to do good, he sometimes commits sin (v.19-23)! This results in the believer feeling wretched and defeated with no answer to his predicament (v.24)!
But Paul gives us the solution in v.25—it’s Jesus and what He did for us on the cross! We don’t get victory through the law, which means looking at our failure! We get it by looking at Jesus’s forgiveness through the cross!
