Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 10

The theme of this psalm is that although evil seems to prosper for a while, in the end, God punishes evil and rewards good. V.4-5 says, “The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God… His ways are always prospering; Your judgments are far above, out of his sight; as for all his (wicked’s) enemies, he sneers at them.”
The key phrase in the above Scripture is that God’s judgments are out of the wicked man’s sight. The wicked can only see his own goals and cannot understand that a God of justice is watching and will punish evil.

Devotion 2 of 2: Mark 10

V.2-12 is about marriage and divorce. Unfortunately, divorce is becoming more and more common. I think one reason is because people don’t understand what marriage is. Marriage is a man and woman becoming one flesh.
We divorce because we cannot agree. In a body, there can be disagreement between members. The eye may say we have to go 1 more km. But the feet may say we are tired and sore because of the stony road. Only by listening and becoming one with our partner can our marriage survive. Let’s pray for the married people we know.
