Devotion 1 of 2: Gen 49
The firstborn Reuben was told he would not excel because he was unstable and had slept with his father’s concubine (v.4). Thus, Reuben lost the firstborn blessing. This blessing was being the king, or head, of the family; being the priest of the family; and receiving the double portion inheritance. These were given to 3 brothers instead.
The kingship went to Judah, the priesthood went to Levi and the double portion went to Joseph. We’re called to be the Church of the Firstborn (Heb 12:22-23), so let’s seek to walk in holiness to not lose the firstborn blessing!

Devotion 2 of 2: Gen 50
This chapter describes the deaths of Jacob and Joseph. When Jacob died, Joseph’s brothers were afraid that he would finally seek revenge against them for selling him as a slave many years ago (v.15).
But Joseph reassured them that he wouldn’t do that. He told them, “…you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive” (v.20).
This amazing truth applies to us, too! Every evil Satan tries to do to us, God will turn to good to save many souls in the LDR!

この章はヤコブとヨセフの死について描いています。ヤコブが死んだとき、ヨセフの兄弟たちは、何年も前に彼を奴隷として売ったことへの復讐をヨセフが遂に果たすのではないかと恐れました（15節）。
しかし、ヨセフはそんなことはないと兄弟たちを安心させました。「あなたがたは、私に悪を計りましたが、神はそれを、良いことのための計らいとなさいました。それはきょうのようにして、多くの人々を生かしておくためでした」と言いました（20節）。
この驚くべき真理は私たちにも当てはまります！サタンが私たちに行おうとするあらゆる悪を、神は善に変え、終末リバイバルで多くの魂を救ってくださるのです！
