Devotion 1 of 2: Gen 27
Jacob was promised the firstborn birthright from Esau in 25:29-34, but he actually received the firstborn blessing from his father Isaac in this chapter (v.24-29).
Endtime application: We, like Jacob, have been promised the birthright of the firstborn in Scriptures. But we need to aggressively seek in order to actually receive the blessing of the firstborn!
However, Jacob’s method of seeking by lying and deceiving was not good (v.5-20), so God had to change his heart through being lied to and deceived by Laben (chapters 28-29). But God honored his aggressive seeking and in the end gave him the firstborn blessing! Let us, too, seek the firstborn blessing aggressively like Jacob!

ヤコブは25:29-34でエサウから長子の権利を約束されましたが、実際にはこの章で父イサクから長子の祝福を受けました（24-29節）。
終末への適用： 私たちもヤコブのように、聖書の中で長子の権利を約束されています。しかし、長子の祝福を実際に受けるためには、積極的に求めなければなりません！
しかし、ヤコブが嘘と欺きによって長子の権利を求める方法は良くありませんでした（5-20節）。ですから、神はラバンに嘘をつかれ、欺かれることを通して、ヤコブの心を変えなければなりませんでした（28-29章）。しかし、神はヤコブの積極的な探求を尊び、最終的に長子の祝福を与えました！私たちもヤコブのように、長子の祝福を積極的に求めましょう！

Devotion 2 of 2: Gen 28
Jacob experience at Bethel (v.10-22) show us that both the Abrahamic and firstborn blessings are connected to the church, which is Bethel (meaning in Heb = house of God)!
On the way to Laban’s house, Jacob slept outside one night, using a stone for a pillow (v.11). This stone symbolized Jesus, rejected by the Jews but made into the cornerstone of the church (Matt 21:42).
Jacob had a dream in which a ladder to heaven appeared with angels ascending and descending on it (v.12). Jacob realized the place symbolized the house of God, the gate of heaven (v.16-17), meaning the place where mankind, as many as the dust of the earth (v.14), could find the way to heaven! Let’s lead many to heaven!
