Devotion 1 of 1: Gen 1

In the beginning, God made man in His image and gave him dominion over the earth (v.26). But in chapter 3, man lost what God gave him by disobeying God’s command. The history of mankind and the writings of the Bible tell the story of how God redeemed man from sin and restored him to his original calling.
Let’s read the Bible this year to learn how God is doing that.

1/1（木）創1章（デボーション1）
初めに神は人を御自身のかたちに創造し、地を支配する権能を与えました（26節）。しかし、第3章では、人は神の命令に従わなかったために、神から与えられたものを失いました。人類の歴史と聖書の記述は、神がどのようにして人を罪から贖い、本来の召命へと回復させたかを物語っています。
神様がどのようにそれを行っているかを学ぶために、今年は聖書を読みましょう。

But God’s work of creating man was not yet completed. V.18 says, ‘And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” ‘ So, God made a woman, who would be a helper, companion, partner in life, one who would walk beside man and be a fit for him!
The woman, Eve, was a picture of the church, the bride of Christ. Through the Fall, we became unfit for Jesus, but throughout history, He has been working in us to purify and restore us to our original, glorious condition, so we can be a partner fit for Him, the Crown Prince of the universe!

1/1（木）創1章（デボーション2）
しかし、神の人間創造の御業はまだ完了していませんでした。18節にはこうあります。『主なる神は言われた。「人がひとりでいるのは良くない。彼にふさわしい助け手を造ろう。」』そこで神は、人の助け手、人生の伴侶、人の傍らを歩み、人にふさわしい者となる女性を創造されました。
エバという女性は、キリストの花嫁である教会の象徴でした。堕落によって私たちはイエスにふさわしくなくなりましたが、歴史を通じて、神は私たちの中で働き、私たちを聖め、本来の栄光ある状態に回復させ、宇宙の王子であるイエス様にふさわしい伴侶となれるようにしてくださっているのです。
