Devotion 1 of 2: Mic 5
This chapter contains the famous prophecy announcing Messiah would be born in Bethlehem (v.2). The chief priests and scribes in King Herod’s day knew of this prophecy (Matt 2:4-6), but they never sought Him out to worship Him! Let’s not have just head-knowledge about Jesus, but a passionate heart to seek Him!
In the remaining verses of this chapter, Micah prophesies about Assyria’s invasion of northern Israel (v.5-6), Israel scattered among the nations (v.7-9), and God fighting for Israel during the Battle of Armageddon (v.10-15).
One puzzling verse is v.5, which says God will raise up 7 shepherds and 8 princely men to fight against Israel’s enemies, including Assyria. I think these might represent the 15 Prime Ministers who have been leading Israel through 6 wars since its independence. Let’s continue to pray that Israel will have good leaders to guide her.

この章には、メシヤがベツレヘムで生まれるという有名な預言（2節）が記されています。ヘロデ王の時代の祭司長や律法学者たちはこの預言を知っていましたが（マタイ2:4-6）、彼らはイエスを礼拝するために探し求めることはありませんでした。イエスについて頭の知識を持つだけでなく、熱い心で主を探し求めたいです。
この章の残りの節で、ミカはアッシリアが北イスラエルに侵攻すること（5-6節）、イスラエルが諸国に散らされること（7-9節）、そして終末のハルマゲドンの戦いで神がイスラエルのために戦うこと（10-15節）について預言しています。
謎めいた節の一つは5節で、神はアッシリアを含むイスラエルの敵と戦うために7人の牧者と8人の指導者を立てると述べられています。私は、これらはイスラエルが独立以来6つの戦争を率いてきた15人の首相を表しているのではないかと考えています。イスラエルに良い首相が備えられて、正しく指導するよう祈り続けましょう。
Devotion 2 of 2: Heb 12
The LDC will be the church of the firstborn (v.23) because we will receive the double portion blessing, as Hag 2:9 prophesies, “‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts.” This prophecy is saying the endtime church will be greater in glory than the 1st century church!
Although Esau was the 1stborn, he lost the 1stborn blessing of the double portion because he valued food for his flesh above his birthright (v.16). Let’s not crave food by taking the mark of the beast and compromise our faith, but rather, let’s reject AC’s threats and choose to stand as the church of the 1stborn!

終末教会は長子の教会（23節）となります。なぜなら、ハガイ書2:9が預言しているように、終わりの教会は二倍の祝福を受けるからです。「この宮のこれから後の栄光は、先のものよりまさろう。万軍の主は仰せられる。」 この預言は、終末時代の教会が1世紀の教会よりも栄光に満ちていると言っているのです。
エサウは長子でしたが、長子の権利である二つの分け前よりも肉の食物を重んじたため、長子の祝福を失いました（16節）。食物を渇望するため、獣の刻印を受けて信仰を曲げるのではなく、反キの脅しを拒絶し、長子の教会として立つことを選びましょう。
