Devotion 1 of 2: Amos 4

This chapter declares judgment on Israel for oppressing the poor, crushing the needy, for wives rebelling against their husbands (v.1), for sacrificing to pagan gods (v.4-5), etc. God said they would be taken away with fishhooks (v.2). This was fulfilled when Assyria defeated Israel and took captives to Nineveh by fishhooks!
Endtime application: Israel is a type of the believers who fall away when AC persecutes the church. They will worship his image and take his mark. However, because of this, they will not be raptured by Jesus to heaven in the middle of the tribulation but must go through the 2nd half of the tribulation!
They will suffer greatly through the 7 trumpet and 7 vial judgments that will cause many catastrophic disasters upon the world for rejecting Christ and killing the LDC! Let’s pray our Christian friends will not compromise to AC!

Devotion 2 of 2: John 18

This chapter describes Jesus’ arrest and trial. When the mob came to arrest Jesus, Peter tried to defend Him. V.10 says, “Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear.” Peter was very brave in facing the mob with only a single sword!
But the unexpected happened! In v.11, Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword into the sheath. Shall I not drink the cup which My Father has given Me?” What was Jesus saying? Peter was trying to defend Jesus, but Jesus ordered him to stop! Then He talked about drinking the cup that God had given Him!
Peter didn’t understand, so he got confused, as did the other disciples. I believe that’s why they all fled! They didn’t understand God’s plan! They didn’t understand what the prophets foretold about Messiah, so they all stumbled! This is a warning to us! If we don’t understand God’s endtime plan, we, too, will stumble and flee!
