Devotion 1 of 2: Eccl 11
V.1 says, “Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days.” This is an encouragement to continue to share the Word and evangelize because you will certainly find fruit in the future.
This verse fits Japan perfectly as the first Catholic missionaries came to Japan in 1549 and the first Protestant missionaries came in 1859, but after 476 years for the Catholic Church and 166 years for the Protestant Church, still very little fruit has been produced in Japan.
But Rev 7:9-14 gives us hope! It says a great multitude which no one could number from all nations and tongues will be saved during the tribulation period at the end of time! This includes Japan! So, let’s continue to cast the bread of the gospel! We will gather a great harvest of souls in the near future!

Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Cor 11
In v.23-33, Paul describes the many sufferings he endured for the gospel! These Scriptures are important for us to study because in the future, we, too, will suffer persecution from AC.
What gave Paul the strength and courage to continue to spread the gospel despite the severe hardships he faced? I think one answer is found in chapter 12. Let’s look at those verses tomorrow!
