Devotion 1 of 2: Neh 1

Nehemiah was the cupbearer of the king of Persia (v.11). He became the leader of the 3rd and final return of the Jews from Babylon. When he heard that Jerusalem’s walls and gates were broken down and the previous returnees were in great distress, he mourned, fasted and prayed for many days (v.2-4).
In his prayer, Nehemiah repented for Judah’s many sins that caused their captivity (v.5-8). But he also reminded God of His promise to restore Israel if they returned to God and kept His commandments (v.9). He pleaded to God to hear their prayers and show mercy (v.11)!
Endtime application: Nehemiah shows the right model of the LDC! He took responsibility and repented for his people’s past sins. He also believed and prayed for restoration! Let’s learn from Nehemiah and repent for Christianity’s sins and believe and pray to become Japan’s Revival Church!

Devotion 2 of 2: Neh 2

Let’s continue to see Nehemiah as a model of the LDC. In v.1-2, while working, he is sad because he has a burden to complete the restoration of Jerusalem. In the endtime, many believers will become sad in their company jobs because they will want to join the LDR full-time and restore the church!
In v.11-16, Nehemiah goes to Jerusalem and right away inspects the walls, confirming the walls and gates are broken. After assessing the situation, he challenges the Jews and their leaders to rise up and build, and they respond and begin working (v.17-18)! This is what an apostle does—motivates people to do God’s work!
In v.19, the enemy once more despises them, saying they are rebelling against the king! But Nehemiah doesn’t back down, declaring God would prosper their efforts (v.20)! Enemies will attack us, too, even saying we’re disobeying God’s Word! So, let’s be like Nehemiah and have confidence that the LDR is God’s perfect will!
