Devotion 1 of 2: Jer 48

This chapter of 47 verses is full of judgments against Moab! Especially significant is v.42, “And Moab shall be destroyed as a people, because he exalted himself against the Lord.” This prophecy came true as Moab no longer exists as a nation or a separate ethnic group.
Some historians say that Moab ceased to exist as a separate kingdom when it was conquered and taken captive by Babylon around 582 BC. Their land is now part of Jordan, so they are probably mixed in with other ethnic groups into the Jordanian people. They were also taken to Babylon, so they’re no doubt mixed into the Iraqi population as well.
In endtime application, the severe judgments against Moab are a picture of the judgments that nations who join AC’s confederation will receive during the last half of the tribulation. Terrible natural disasters and sufferings as described in Rev 8-19 will strike the globe! Let’s pray that multitudes will be saved from every nation in the LDR!

Devotion 2 of 2: 1 Pet 4

V.12-19 speak about partaking in Christ’s sufferings. These Scriptures will be a source of strength to the people who go through the endtime persecution from AC.
V.12 says Christians should not think going through fiery trials is strange but rather we should be glad because if we partake in Christ’s sufferings, we’ll partake in His glory, too (v.13)!
V.14 encourages us by saying if we are reproached for Christ, we are blessed because it means the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon us! Hallelujah!
Let’s not fear persecution, but let’s realize it is a part of our calling, and it will produce abundant fruit in us!
