Devotion 1 of 2: Jer 4

In v.5-18, God prophesies through Jeremiah to Judah that disaster will come from the north (6). The destroyer of nations, who is Nebuchadnezzar, is on his way (v.7). He will make Judah desolate and lay waste its cities (v.7).
In v.10, Jeremiah says that God has deceived the people saying they would have peace; i.e., Babylon would not invade Judah. Why is Jeremih saying this contradictory statement? I believe it’s because he’s quoting the false prophets of Judah who were prophesying in the Lord’s name that Babylon would not invade. But later Jeremiah will clearly say that they are false prophets and God did not say that.
In the last days, there will be many prophecies or Bible interpretations of what will happen in the endtime. Let’s not be deceived by well-meaning but wrong Bible teachers who teach the imminent return of Christ and a pre-tribulation rapture. I believe these teachings will cause many millions of believers to fall away when they don’t come to pass. Let’s diligently study the end time, humbly asking the Lord for understanding.

Devotion 2 of 2: Acts 4

Because the disciples had the anointing and presence of God, great miracles were happening and multitudes were being saved. The number of men grew to 5,000 (v.4); if women were added, perhaps the number would be about 10,000! When the LDC walks in the anointing and presence of God, similar miracles and salvations will surely happen!
When threatened to not talk about Jesus, the disciples prayed for boldness to continue preaching in Jesus’ name and for God to grant more healings, signs and wonders (v.29-30). God answered by shaking the building and filling all of them with the Holy Spirit and boldness to continue preaching (v.31)!
The LDC will also be threatened and persecuted! So, when that happens, let’s do what the early church did and pray fervently for boldness! God will surely answer and maybe even shake the building and empower us by the Spirit!
