Devotion 1 of 2: 2 Sam 9
In this chapter, David shows kindness to Mephibosheth, Jonathan’s son (v.3-6), because of their promise to protect each other’s families (1 Sam 20:12-17). But Mephibosheth was lame in both feet, so David’s kindness makes this act a symbol of the world showing care to people with disabilities.
After 3K years, the disability rights movement to recognize people with disabilities, and provide them equal opportunities in life, is finally spreading in many countries today.
In the past people with handicaps and the mentally impaired were largely rejected by society. The 1st school for the deaf began in 1815, and the Braille alphabet was invented in 1829. But prejudice caused the Nazis to kill thousands with disabilities! After much battling, equal rights for the disabled became law in the U.S. in 1990.
In Myanmar, I learned that Japan gave the money to build the 1st school for the blind in that country! PTL! As the David Church of the endtime, let’s recognize and fight for equal rights for the disabled around the world!

この章で、ダビデはヨナタンの息子メフィボシェテに親切を示します（3-6節）。これは、互いの家族を守るという約束（1サム20:12-17）を交わしたためです。しかし、メフィボシェテは両足が不自由だったので、ダビデの行為は世界が障害者への配慮を示すべき象徴となっています。
3千年を経て、障害者を認め、彼らに平等な機会を与える障害者権利運動は、今日ようやく多くの国で広まっています。
かつて、身体障害者や知的障害者は社会からほとんど拒絶されていました。1815年に最初の聾学校が始まり、1829年に点字が発明されました。しかし、偏見によりナチスは1940年代に障害者数千人を殺害しました！多くの闘いの末、1990年に米国で障害者の平等な権利が法律になったのです。
ミャンマーでは、日本が同国初の盲学校建設に資金を提供したことを知りました！ PTL! 終末の時代のダビデ教会として、世界中の障害者の平等な権利を認識し、そのために戦いましょう!
Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Sam 10
This is the last chapter before the tragedy of adultery and murder entered David’s life. David sent a delegation to the new Ammonite king, Hanun, to convey sympathy for his father’s death (v.1-2). But Hanun treated David’s delegation with utter disrespect, which showed his immaturity and the terrible quality of his advisors (v.3-5). So, both sides went to war with Israel overwhelming Hanun’s forces, and Hanun learning a bitter lesson (v.6-19).
Recently the U.S. sent a delegation to a NATO Defense Ministers’ meeting in Belgium in Feb, 2025. America’s V.P. JD Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave speeches that caused a lot of confusion and alarm. Vance seemed to be insulting Europe by criticizing their form of democracy. He said the biggest threat to Europe is not Russia or China but the ruling parties themselves. He said they were stifling the good opinions of their critics.
Hegseth made shocking statements that gave Russia much of what they wanted from Ukraine. He said Ukraine must give up the land Russia holds, and Ukraine should not be a part of NATO. Ukraine and Europe will never agree to such conditions, so Hegseth’s first speech on the international stage was a complete disaster.
Let’s continue to pray for world leaders to be honest, not arrogant but humble, and above corruption. Now the U.S. is getting closer to Russia, and Canada is separating from the U.S. and getting closer to Europe. The world is changing every day. Let’s pray that God’s endtime plan will be fulfilled and that we will not be deceived by world leaders.

これは、姦淫と殺人の悲劇がダビデの人生に入る前の最後の章です。ダビデは、お父様の死に対する同情を伝えるために、アンモン人の新しい王ハヌンに代表団を送りました（1-2節）。しかし、ハヌンはダビデの代表団をまったく敬意なく扱いました。これは、彼の未熟さと彼のつかさたちのひどい質を示しています（3-5節）。そのため、両陣営は戦争になり、イスラエルはハヌンの軍隊を圧倒し、ハヌンは苦い教訓を学びました（6-19節）。
最近、米国は2025年2月にベルギーで開催されるNATO国防相会議に代表団を派遣しました。アメリカの副大統領JDヴァンスと国防長官ピート・ヘグセスは、多くの混乱と不安を引き起こした演説を行いました。ヴァンスは、ヨーロッパの民主主義の形態を批判することで、ヨーロッパを侮辱しているよう印象を人々に与えたのです。彼は、ヨーロッパにとって最大の脅威はロシアでも中国でもなく、与党自身であるというニュアンスのことを述べました。彼は、ヨーロッパは批判者の良い意見を抑圧していると言いました。
ヘグセスはロシアがウクライナに求めていたものの多くをロシアに与えるような衝撃的なスピーチをしました。彼は、ウクライナはロシアが保有する土地を放棄しなければならない、ウクライナはNATOに加盟すべきではないと述べたのです。ウクライナとヨーロッパはそのような条件に決して同意しないだろうから、ヘグセスの国際舞台での最初の演説は完全な失敗だったでしょう。
世界の指導者たちが正直で、傲慢ではなく謙虚で、腐敗を超越するよう祈り続けよう。今、米国はロシアに接近し、カナダは米国から離脱してヨーロッパに接近しています。世界は日々変化しているのです。神の終末の計画が成就し、私たちは世界の指導者たちに騙されないよう祈りましょう。
