Devotion 1 of 1: Ps 98
I would like to interpret this psalm as a prophecy of the end time.
v.1b “He has done marvelous things.” God will do mighty miracles through those who believe John 14:12!
v.2 “The Lord has made known His salvation.” God will save hundreds of millions, or maybe billions of souls!
v.3a “He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel.” God will save Israel, too!
v.3b “All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.” Matt 24:14 will be fulfilled. The gospel will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations!
v.4-8 “Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth, etc.” Praise and worship will be powerful in the LDC!
v.9b “For He is coming to judge the earth. With righteousness…and the peoples with equity.” Jesus will come to judge AC and his followers with righteousness and true justice.
Let’s pray for God’s endtime plan of revival to be fulfilled!
JOHN 20: Free sharing!
This chapter is about the resurrection of Jesus. Let’s make an approximate timeline of that day’s events.
5:15 am. Jesus arose from the dead, as did many Old Testament saints to appear to many (Matt 27:52-53).
5:30 am. Mary Magdalene arrives at Jesus’ tomb before sunrise (v.1). It’s empty. She runs to the disciples (v.2).
6:00 am. Sunrise. Mary reports to Peter and John (v.2). They begin to run to the tomb (v.3).
6:30 am. Peter and John arrive at the tomb, see it’s empty and return home (v.4-10).
6:45am. Mary stays at the tomb, encounters angels (v.11-13).
7:00 am. She then encounters Jesus (v.14-17).
7:15 am. Jesus ascends to the Father, taking the Old Testament saints who also resurrected (Eph 4:8-10).
7:30 am. Mary goes to the disciples and tells them about seeing Jesus (v.18).
We don’t know for sure, but there might have been about 2 hours of time for the OT resurrected saints to testify to the people in Jerusalem before Jesus took them to heaven. This undoubtedly prepared many hearts to believe in Jesus when Peter preached that He had resurrected (Acts 2:29-33) on the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2!
God will do similar miracles to prepare the people of Japan to receive the gospel in the LD! Let’s believe and expect it!
