Devotion 1 of 1: Ps 84
This psalm was written by the sons of Korah. It is a wonderful psalm about the beauty, preciousness and blessing of the Tabernacle of David and dwelling in it (v.1-4). It also contains the famous v.10, “For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.”
That such a beautiful psalm can be written by the sons of Korah is a testimony that no matter how bad our or our family’s past was, we can always change our destiny by making the right choices.
When we read Num 16, we realize what a bad legacy Korah left for his sons. Korah led a rebellion against Moses and Aaron, wanting to be a High Priest like Aaron out of pride. God judged him by making the earth split open and swallowing Korah and his followers alive!
The sons of Korah could have become bitter against God for taking their father, but, instead, they chose to long for the courts of the Lord and cry out for the living God (v.2)! Because they chose to walk uprightly, God did not withhold any good thing from them (v.11)! They were blessed to serve in the tabernacle and even wrote psalms that were included in God’s Word!
Even if our ancestors may have failed bigtime in the past, let’s not allow that to poison our hearts. Let’s choose to overcome evil by doing good (Rom 12:21)!

Here are 3 wonderful verses found in this chapter: 17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 19 We love Him because He first loved us.
These verses will be important for us to understand when we face the day of judgment during the tribulation when AC will persecute the church. What a fearful trial that will be! But we can overcome! How? These verses teach us that perfect, or mature, love casts out fear by giving us boldness in the day of judgment! Amen!
V.17 also says as Jesus is, so are we in this world! Hallelujah! We will be like Jesus! That’s why John 14:12 says we can do the works of Jesus! Jesus wants us to grow as much as possible to full maturity so we can be like Him so He can use us to bring forth a world-wide revival in the endtime!
According to v.19, we can grow in love by genuinely experiencing God’s love over and over again! Let’s be filled with God’s love so we can overcome AC in the endtime!
