Devotion 1 of 1: Isa 61
This chapter speaks about some wonderful things that God will do for his people. I believe it describes what will happen, not during the Millennium, but in the LDR. The reason is because v.1-2 don’t apply to the Millennium but to a revival and because rebuilding old ruins (v.4) is an excellent description of the church being restored.
Another verse that can be applied to church restoration is v.10b, about garments: “…He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.”
Garments in the Bible can symbolize truths that the church lost and that God is restoring. The garments of salvation and the robe of righteousness in v.10 are two examples of garments that represent truths. The High Priest’s garments are the clearest parable of garments in the Bible that reveal the truths God is restoring!
Here is a simple summary of the High Priest’s Garments as a symbol of the truths God is restoring to the church:
GARMENTS TRUTH REVIVAL YEAR EX 28: White Tunic Salvation Reformation 1517 39-42
Blue Robe HS Infilling Azusa St. 1906 31-35

Let’s study the High Priest’s Garments to better understand God’s plan of restoring his truths to the church!
1 TIM 1: Free sharing!
On Feb 11, 1948, the Latter Rain Revival began among about 70 Bible school teachers and students at the Sharon Bible College in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada. They had been fasting and praying for God to pour out the Holy Spirit and empower the church with the gifts of the Holy Spirit for evangelism and revival.
God restored many truths to the church through this movement, among which were: Restoration of Israel and the Glorious Church in the Endtime, the 5-Fold Ministry, the Feasts of Israel, Endtime Revival of the Latter Rain, the Sacrifice of Praise, Restoration of the Tabernacle of David, Building Fellowship Networks instead of Denominations, Laying on of Hands and Prophecy for Imparting Spiritual Gifts, etc.
Three key Scriptures for the Laying on of Hands and Prophecy are found in 1 and 2 Tim. They are:
*2 Tim 1:6 “Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.”
*1 Tim 4: 14 “Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership (presbytery).”
*1 Tim 1:18 “This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare…”
Teachings restored about the Laying on of Hands and Prophecy include:
Spiritual gifts can be imparted by prophecy and the laying on of hands (1:6).
It is mature elders (presbyters, pastors, prophets, apostles, etc.) that do this ministry (4:14).
The prophecies received help the believer to fight and overcome in spiritual battles concerning ministry (1:18).
Let’s treasure the prophecies God has spoken to us and stir ourselves up to wage a good warfare by them!
