Devotion 1 of 1: 1 Cor 11
Paul teaches on the important subjects of hair, head coverings, authority and the Lord’s Supper.
One point about head coverings for women: Women in many countries wear head coverings in church because of v.5-13. Once, a fervent Christian from Mexico who came to Japan for karate training asked me, “Why don’t the ladies in your church wear head coverings?”
My answer was, “Because of v.15: ‘If a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her; for her hair is given to her for a covering.’” So that’s why Christian women in most advanced nations don’t wear scarves around their heads in church! They believe they already have a covering – their hair!
