Devotion 1 of 2: Deut 5

Moses repeats the story of God giving the 10 Commandments to Israel in v.1-22. There are hundreds of commandments in the Bible, but God summed them up in 10 commandments.
In the NT, Jesus further condensed the commandments by summing them up to two: Love God and love your neighbor as yourself (Matt 22:35-40).
Then Paul summed it all up in one word as he wrote in Gal 5:10b, “Love is the fulfillment of the law.”
Let’s make love the goal of our life! Let’s seek to love God, ourselves and our neighbors more and more out of a pure heart!

Devotion 2 of 2: Mark 5

In the story of the sick daughter of Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue, in v.22-24 and v.35-43, some people thought, “It’s too late! The girl died. Jesus can’t do anything now!” (v.35). But Jesus told Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; only believe!”
In our life, when we run into a problem where it seems all hope is gone; it’s too late; and even God can’t fix the situation anymore, let’s remember this story and do as Jesus said: Don’t fear, but believe that all things are possible with Jesus!
