Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 17
David had struggles in life against enemies who surrounded him (v.9), like we all do. But he made an astounding confession which encourages all of us who believe in Jesus in v.15b, “I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness!”
When we die, we will awake in heaven and will be like Jesus, without sin and filled with God’s glory! What a wonderful gift of salvation Jesus has given to us! It makes all our struggles in life worth it!

Devotion 2 of 2: Ps 18
This is a great psalm with some well-known verses! A few examples are: v.29, “For by You I can run against a troop, by my God I can leap over a wall.” Another is v.33, “He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, and sets me on my high places.” And one more is v.35b, “Your gentleness has made me great.”
I want to comment about v.33. Some deer, or goats, or sheep, live in mountainous areas where they have to climb up or down very steep cliffs with hardly any ledges. Yet they can do it at great speeds without falling because of the special hoofs God created them with! Because of God’s grace and strength, we, too, can go through the many trials of life without falling! Thank you, Lord, for his grace!
