Devotion 1 of 2: Num 13

This chapter is about the 12 spies sent into Canaan and the reports they brought back. They all agreed that the land was rich and wonderful (v.27). But 10 gave a bad report, saying the people were giants and were strong and their cities fortified so Israel would be devoured (v.28-33). Only Caleb (and later, Joshua) said they should go in because they could overcome (v.30).
This story is a parable of the church in 2024! God wants to lead us into our Promised Land, which is world-wide revival and Bible promises fulfilled, which is so rich and wonderful, but negative opinions saying endtime revival will not happen and that kind of teaching is not true or is heretical, are like giants opposing the LDR. How can we change from one of the 10 spies into Caleb? That is our spiritual battle every day!

Devotion 2 of 2: Num 14

This chapter describes how Israel refused to enter Canaan. This parable is a warning from God to us in the 21st century. So why did Israel fail? I believe there were several reasons.
One was because they didn’t understand God’s plan of Egypt, Wilderness, Promised Land.
Another was they thought of themselves as small and weak (grasshoppers – 13:33).
Of course, another was that the people of Canaan were giants who lived in strong cities (13:28-33).
And other reasons would be unbelief and rebellion (Heb 3:12-19), and sexual immorality, tempting God and complaining (1 Cor 10:6-11), etc.
So let us not repeat Israel’s mistakes but seek God to transform us so that we can overcome in each area and not back down, but enter boldly the Promised Land of national and global revival!
