Devotion 1 of 2: Num 9
NUM 9: Answers!
1) Cloud by day to protect Israel from the hot desert sun and pillar of fire at night to provide warmth from the desert cold (v.16).
2) It guided Israel (v.17). The Holy Spirit has been guiding the church throughout church history.
In restoration teaching, the baptism of the Holy Spirit was restored to the church in 1906 at the Azusa St. revival, but church restoration has not yet been completed. We are now wandering in the wilderness, and need the next great revival to bring us into our Promised Land, the LDR!

Devotion 2 of 2: Num 10
This chapter explains the two silver trumpets that were used to give signals to Israel and also talks about Israel’s departure from Mt. Sinai after camping there for almost 1 year (v.11). The trumpets had various purposes: To gather the congregation, direct the movement of the camps, gather leaders, send soldiers out to war, celebrate the feasts and beginnings of months, to commemorate burnt and peace offerings, etc. (v.2-10).
I believe we can see the 2 trumpets as a picture of prophecy – God’s voice speaking to his people. This coincides with the Feast of Trumpets symbolizing the Latter Rain Revival, which saw the truths of the Laying on of Hands, prophecy, the 5-fold ministry and the Tabernacle of David restored to the church. Let’s study restoration and the Latter Rain Movement to better understand God’s plan for his people in the endtime.
