Devotion 1 of 2: Gen 11
Abram went through a series of tragedies before he received God’s awesome promise in chapter 12. First, in Ur, his brother Haran died (v.28). Next, it turned out that Sarai was barren (v.30). Then, after he left Ur with his father, wife and nephew, Lot, and went to Haran, halfway to Canaan, his father Terah also died (v.32)!
2024 has started with 3 tragedies: the Noto earthquake, the JAL airplane collision, and a fire in my condo building! I’m believing for a great download of God’s blessings of salvation, healing, deliverance and revival for this year!

Devotion 2 of 2: Gen 12
1) God promised Abram that in him all the families of the earth would be blessed (v.3). This was fulfilled through Jesus because he provided salvation for every family and every person in the world!
2) If Abram had said Sarai was his wife, he would have been killed, and Sarai would have been taken into Pharaoh’s harem! So he said she was his sister, which was true, to stay alive to protect Sarai by praying for her! God saw his and Sarai’s faith and answered by sending a plague to stop Pharaoh from taking Sarai as a wife (v.17). Let’s have faith like Abraham and Sarah!
